OUR STORY

A modern retreat in the tranquility of
the ancient mountains and forests
long beloved by residents of Kyoto

Kyoto proudly possesses a cultural history that only the city that was once the capital of Japan for over 1,000 years can boast. Central Kyoto has become a bustling city in recent times, filled with ancient and modern attractions worth the visit.

As a contrast, for many seeking a refreshing retreat in the quaint mountainside of Arashiyama in Western Kyoto, you'll discover why our hotel is the perfect respite for you during your travels.

OUR CONCEPT

Repurposed from a local apartment complex into a boutique hotel, we opened our doors in September 2017. We're happy to invite guests to stay in one of our ten rooms built in the spirit of a traditional Japanese inn, filled with all the modern amenities you need to feel like you're in your second home.

As soon as you step into our main lobby, you'll find a serene seating area furnished with bamboo plants and a custom-made wooden table as the centerpiece, displaying the talent Japanese craftsmanship that built it as you enjoy some coffee from our 24-hour complimentary coffee bar.

Our concierge in the lobby is always there for whatever request you may have, assuring that you will have a pleasant stay and memorable trip as we go out of our way to meet your needs.

DESTINATIONS

Kyoto Arashiyama

Hidden treasures in the mountains and forests of Arashiyama,
never too far from something interesting

Thanks to our unique location, The Grand West Arashiyama sits a short walk away from the beautiful Togetsukyo Bridge that crosses over the Katsura River, leading you to a street full of shops and restaurants. How about hopping a ride on a rickshaw?

Along your walk from our hotel, you'll see many historic sites that we'd be happy to help you find, such as Horin-ji Temple, which dates back to 713 A.D, and World Heritage Site Tenryu-ji Temple. Whatever site you're on your way to see, we offer our guests a free two-hour bike rental and knowledge of great spots that only locals would know, so don't hesitate to ask us for any suggestions or recommendations on local hidden gems.
